HELLO! I’m sam. I am an Oklahomie born and raised! And I do sure love this place! But I can never seem to shut up about how much I love Hawaii hahaha!! I do love traveling- so let me come travel to you! I love making art, it truly keeps me going. Photography is my first love. Videography, not too short after. And now I do dabble in painting. I’m a big big family person- with an even bigger big family! I can’t quite seem to just focus on one thing so you can probably find me being in a skateboarding phase, or yoga phase, or rock climbing phase or whatever else strikes my fancy phase. Being half Vietnamese, naturally Pho is one of my favorite foods, And cuties, I do love me a bag of cuties. And definitely some Cajun Corner (wink wink) And then like ice-cream for breakfast, lunch, dinner and then again of course for dessert. My music taste is all over the place but you will consistently find me listening to Tyler the Creator. He’s one of my favorites because he’s just way more than one thing, He makes music, he makes clothes, he makes art! He is Tyler the creator. I am Sami I Ami (seriously just made that correlation as I write this out so thats kinda cool). I owe lots of praise to my sweet sweet parents for pushing me to pursing my art as a career. I started on my mom’s old camera back in 2016, and grew up watching her always honor others by gifting them slideshows paired with a perfect mix of sentimental and funny music. And she’s makes some insanely awesome rugs. I come from a family of creatives! My brother, my dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents all creative in there own unique ways! My family are all big business people so i’m trying to keep up haha! But if there’s one motto my family lives by is work hard play hard! It’s all about balance! So i’m so excited to put my whole heart into this. I also owe thanks to the Oklahoma Arts Institute where I spent my teenage summers in the mountains making art. Yes- it is as dreamy as it sounds. And yes I can proudly say I peaked at arts camp. And another shoutout to someone I would consider my mentor, Lyons, my highschool art teacher who took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. And as i’m singing my praises for my appreciation I am very inspired by all of the friends i’ve met along the way just pursuing our arts! That includes my sweetie little boyfriend who recently took the leap with his art and started his own screen printing gig. Its a privilege and it’s important to appreciate all the people around you- who inspire you, encourage you, and love you. My art is all about honoring life and how special each moment is. Life is made up of all the little things, and that is my sweet spot. I put the memories that could have been forgotten on a pedastool. I wanna make art about things that matter most to you.
